Description of Change: A new water aftercooler group is used on the engines in these trucks. This new water aftercooler group includes a new aftercooler core assembly. The new aftercooler core assembly has a new design that provides increased resistance to damage that can be the result of thermal stress.
Adaptable To: The new 210-2590 Water Aftercooler Gp is not available for parts service. The new 210-2582 Aftercooler Core As is a component of the new water aftercooler group. The new 210-2590 Water Aftercooler Gp is effective with 3516B Machine Engines (S/N: 7TR01249-UP) in 793C HA Off-Highway Trucks (S/N: ATY00482-UP). The new water aftercooler group is also effective with Remanufactured 3516 EUI Machine Engines (S/N: 7CL01263-UP) and Remanufactured 3516B Machine Engines (S/N: 7DS00324).
The new 210-2582 Aftercooler Core As is adaptable to the Off-Highway Trucks that follow: 793C (S/N: ATY1-00481; 4AR1-UP; 4GZ1-UP), 793B (S/N: 1HL1-UP) and 973 (S/N: 3SJ1-UP) that have been converted to 3516 EUI Machine Engines. The new Special Instruction, REHS1101-00, "Removal of Aftercooler Core Assembly and Installation of Aftercooler Core" provides complete information for installing the new 210-2582 Aftercooler Core As in these trucks. This special instruction is available through normal literature ordering channels. This special instruction is also available for electronic distribution in the Service Information System (SIS).
If a remanufactured machine engine that includes the new 210-2582 Aftercooler Core As is used to replace a machine engine that does not include a new 210-2582 Aftercooler Core As, use the procedure that follows:

- At the rear of the engine, install O-ring seal (9) onto the tube assembly (3) .
- Install retaining ring (8) onto the tube assembly (3) .
- Insert tube assembly (3) into flange (6) .
- Put two retainers (7) into position onto flange (6) .
- Fasten flange (6) with two bolts (5) and washers (4). The bolts pass through the flange (6) and the 210-2583 Adapter .
- Install the hose (2) and hose clamps (1). Tighten the hose clamps to a torque of 12 ± 2 N·m (9 ± 1 lb ft).
