A New Rotor Brake is Now Used on Reclaimer Mixers {3275, 5631}
- Reclaimer Mixers:
- RM-500 (S/N: ASW1-UP)
Description of Change: An improved rotor brake is now used. The new rotor brake allows the brake pads to completely release preventing premature wear.
Adaptable To: The new 308-6405 Rotor Brake replaces 270-7211 Rotor Brake .
The new 308-6405 Rotor Brake is effective with the following Reclaimer Mixers:
- RM-500 (S/N: ASW128,137,145,146,150,190)
- RM-500 (S/N: ASW1-127,129-136,138-144,147-149,151-189)

- Move the machine to a flat level surface and apply the parking brake.
- Move the cab or the platform to the extreme left side of the machine and open the access door for the right platform.
- Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
- Remove the rear belly plate from the machine frame.
- Turn the engine start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
- Locate the electrical circuit breaker box on the left side of the machine and turn "rotor service switch" (2) to the ON position. Turning "rotor service switch" (2) to the ON position will release the rotor brake. The rotor brake may now be removed from the mounting bracket.

- Remove mounting bolts (3) from the rotor brake.

- Turn "rotor service switch" (2) to the OFF position. Turning "rotor service switch" (2) to the OFF position will relieve the hydraulic pressure on the rotor brake.
- Disconnect hydraulic supply hose assembly (4) from the rotor brake.
- Install rotor brake (1) and bolts (3). Attach hydraulic supply hose assembly (4) .
- Adjust the rotor brake. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, KEBU7524 for the correct procedure.
- Test the rotor brake for proper brake function.
- Install the rear belly plate on the machine.
