  7. Position the gap in ring (60) over the weep hole. Use Tooling (A) (not shown) to install ring (60) (not shown) into pump housing (33).

  8. Install roller bearing cup (58) into pump housing (33).

  9. Install shaft seal (59) into pump housing (33). Assemble shaft seal (59) so that the spring loaded sealing member is toward bearing cup (58), as shown.

  10. Install bearings (57) into pump housing (33).

    Illustration 6g00603861

  11. Install shaft seal (55) into pump housing (33). Assemble seal (55) so that the spring loaded sealing member is toward the pilot face, as shown.

  12. Install O-ring seal (56) onto pump housing (33).

    Illustration 7g00551343

  13. Install roller bearing cone (54) onto pump shaft (53). Install roller bearing cone (54) and pump shaft (53) into pump housing (33).

Note: Set bearing preload before you install the rotating group. The bearing preload should be 0.00 mm (0.000 inch) to 0.05 mm (0.002 inch).

    Illustration 8g00931581

  14. Do not install spacer (48). Install roller bearing cone (42) onto shaft (53). Assemble the pump without spacer (48) in order to check the preload of roller bearing cone (42).

    Illustration 11g00931578

  16. Install Tooling (D) onto the pump housing. Use the dial indicator to determine the end play of shaft (53). Be sure that you move shaft (53) completely in both directions. Use appropriate tools to move shaft (53).

  17. The thickness of spacer (48) should equal the end play measurement plus 0.0508 mm (0.00200 inch). For example, if the end play is 2.1590 mm (0.08500 inch) then the spacer thickness should be 2.2098 mm (0.08700 inch).

  18. If necessary, grind the spacer to the determined measurement.
