Removal Procedure

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.

At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.

Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.

Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.

Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

  1. Raise the powered hood assembly.

  1. Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

  1. Drain the coolant from the coolant tank into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

  1. Loosen the clamp and disconnect hose (2) from coolant tank (1) .

  1. Loosen the clamp and disconnect hose (3) from coolant tank (1) .

  1. Disconnect hose assemblies (7), (6), (5), and (4) from coolant tank (1) .

  1. Remove bolts (8) and coolant tank (1) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install coolant tank (1) and bolts (8) .

  1. Connect hose assemblies (4), (5), (6), and (7) to coolant tank (1) .

  1. Connect hose (3) to coolant tank (1) and tighten the clamp.

  1. Connect hose (2) to coolant tank (1) and tighten the clamp.

  1. Fill coolant tank (1) with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

  1. Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.

  1. Lower the powered hood assembly.
