  1. Lower the temperature of bearing assembly (71). Install bearing assembly (71).

  2. Install lip seal (70) into upper cap (66).

  4. Install upper cap (66). Position lower cap (68). Install four of bolts (65) that are spaced equally. Tighten four of bolts (65 ) in a diagonal pattern by an equal number of turns to a torque of 88 ± 7 N·m (65 ± 5 lb ft). Ensure that lower cap (68) is flush with the frame. Measure the gap between upper cap (66) and the frame at each of the four bolts and record the measurement. Remove upper cap (66). Install a number of shims (67) that is equal in thickness to the gap between upper cap (66) and the frame. Install upper cap (66). Install bolts (65). Install spacer (64).

  5. Lower the temperature of bearing (63). Use Tooling (E) in order to install bearing (63) to a depth of 12.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.50 ± 0.02 inch).

  6. Lubricate lip seals (62) with the lubricant that is being sealed. Use Tooling (G) in order to install lip seals (62).

  7. Lower the temperature of bearing sleeve (61) to −57° to minus 68°C (−71° to minus 122°F). Use Tooling (E) in order to install bearing sleeve (61).

  8. Use Tooling (E) in order to install collar (60).

  9. Position a suitable lift truck at the rear of rear frame (64). Attach two suitable lifting devices onto the rear bumper and the forks. Use the suitable lift truck in order to connect rear frame (59) to the front frame. Install Tooling (A) in order to chock the rear tires.

  10. Install pin (58). Install spacer (57).

  11. Install lock plate (54). Apply Tooling (F) onto bolts (55). Install two of bolts (55) that are 180 degrees opposite. Tighten two of bolts (55) to a torque of 135 ± 14 N·m (100 ± 10 lb ft). Measure the gap between lock plate (54) and the frame in four places and record the measurements. Remove lock plate (54). Install a number of shims (56) that are equal in thickness to the minimum gap measurement minus 0.25 mm (0.010 inch). Install lock plate (54). Install bolts (55). Tighten bolts (55) to a torque of 240 N·m (177 lb ft). Install bolts (53). Tighten bolts (53) to a torque of 105 ± 20 N·m (77 ± 15 lb ft).

  14. Position the hose assemblies in the frame. Install the plates and blocks (51).

  29. Position cover (23). Install bolts (22). Tighten two of bolts (22) that are diagonal from each other by an equal number of turns. Tighten the remaining bolts (22) by an equal number of turns. Install bolts (21). Connect hose assembly (20). Install clips (18) and (19).

  37. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Extended Life Coolant - Change".

  38. Fill the hydraulic system with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change".

  39. Charge the air conditioning system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Dealer Service Tool Catalog, NENG2500, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.
