  1. Use Tooling (F) to install the bearing sleeve in tilt link (2). Ensure that the bearing is centered in the bore.

  1. Apply Tooling (H) to the lip seal bores of the tilt link. Use Tooling (K) to install the lip seals in each side of tilt link (2). Install the lip of the seal toward the outside of the tilt link. Apply Tooling (J) to the lip of the seal.

  1. Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 for the other end of the tilt link.

  1. Ensure that the pin bores in the bucket, tilt lever and tilt link are clean and free of debris.

  1. Apply Tooling (J) to the pin bores.

  1. Use Tooling (E) to install the sleeve bearing in tilt lever (14). Ensure that the bearing is centered in the bore.

  1. Apply Tooling (H) to the lip seal bores of tilt lever (14). Use Tooling (K) to install the lip seal in each side of the tilt lever. Install the lip of the seal toward the outside of the tilt lever. Apply Tooling (J) to the lip of the seal.

  1. Ensure that the pin bores in the tilt lever, tilt link and tilt cylinder are clean and free of debris.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to tilt link (2). The weight of tilt link (2) is approximately 125 kg (275 lb).

  1. Align the pin bores in tilt lever (14) with the pin bore in tilt link (2) .

  1. Apply Tooling (J) to the pin bores.

  1. Install pin (23) .

  1. Apply Tooling (G) to the inside and the outside diameters of collet (22) .

  1. Install collet (22) .

  1. Install three plugs (20) .

  1. Repeat Step 13 through Step 15 for the collet on the other side.

  1. Apply Tooling (G) to the threads of bolt (21).

  1. Install bolt (21), the nut and the washers.

    Note: The collet on one side must not extend farther than the other collet when the bolt and nut are tight.

  1. Tighten bolt (21) and the nut to a torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft). After the bolt and nut are tight, hit the collets on each side with a heavy hammer until the torque on the bolt and the nut is less than 950 N·m (700 lb ft).

  1. Tighten bolt (21) and the nut again to a torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft). Hit each collet again until the torque for the bolt and the nut is less than 1600 N·m (1180 lb ft).

  1. Tighten bolt (21) and the nut to a final torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft).

    Note: At the end of 50 service hours, repeat Step 19 through Step 21.

  1. Install a suitable lifting device to tilt lever (14). The weight of tilt lever (14) and tilt link (2) is approximately 670 kg (1477 lb).

  1. Align the bores of tilt lever (14) and the lift arms.

  1. Install Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to the lift arms and to pin (19). The weight of pin (19) is approximately 60 kg (132 lb).

  1. Apply Tooling (J) to the pin bores.

  1. Install pin (19) and the shims.

  1. Apply Tooling (G) to the inside and the outside diameters of the collet (16) .

  1. Install collet (16) .

  1. Repeat Step 27 and Step 28 for the collet on the other side.

  1. Install three plugs (17) .

  1. Apply Tooling (G) to the threads of bolt (15) .

  1. Install bolt (15), the washer and the nut.

    Note: The collet on one side must not extend farther than the other collet when the bolt and nut are tight.

  1. Tighten nuts (15) to torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft). After the nuts are tight, hit the collet on each side with a heavy hammer until the torque on nuts () is less than 950 N·m (700 lb ft).

  1. Tighten nuts (15) to a torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft). Hit each collet again until the torque on the nuts is less than 1600 N·m (1180 lb ft).

  1. Tighten nuts (15) to a final torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft).

    Note: At the end of 50 service hours, repeat Step 33 through Step 35.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to tilt cylinder (9). The weight of tilt cylinder (9) is approximately 360 kg (794 lb).

  1. Start the engine. Align the bores of tilt cylinder (9) and tilt lever (14) .

  1. Stop the engine.

  1. Apply Tooling (J) to the pin bores.

  1. Install pin (13) and the shims.

  1. Install three plastic plugs (26) .

  1. Apply Tooling (G) to the inside and outside diameters of collet (11) .

  1. Install collet (11) .

  1. Repeat Step 43 through Step 44 for the collet on the other side.

  1. Apply Tooling (G) to the threads of bolt (11) .

  1. Install bolt (10) and the washer.

    Note: The collet on one side must not extend farther than the other collet when the bolt and nut are tight.

  1. Tighten bolt (10) to a torque of 1350 ± 160 N·m (1000 ± 120 lb ft). After the bolt and nut are tight, hit the collets on each side with a heavy hammer until the torque on the bolt and the nut is less than 680 N·m (500 lb ft).

  1. Tighten bolt (10) again to a torque of 1350 ± 160 N·m (1000 ± 120 lb ft). Hit each collet again until the torque for the bolt and the nut is less than 1020 N·m (750 lb ft).

  1. Tighten bolt (11) to a final torque of 1350 ± 160 N·m (1000 ± 120 lb ft).

    Note: At the end of 50 service hours, repeat Step 48 through Step 50.

  1. Install guard (8) and four bolts (7) .

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to tilt link (2). The weight of tilt link (2) is approximately 125 kg (275 lb). Align the bores of the bucket and the tilt link.

  1. Apply Tooling (J) to the pin bores.

  1. Install pin (6) and the shims.

  1. Apply Tooling (G) to the inside and the outside diameters of collet (5) .

  1. Install collet (5) .

  1. Install three plugs (4) .

  1. Repeat Step 55 through Step 57 for the collet on the other side.

  1. Apply Tooling (G) to the threads of bolt (3) .

  1. Install bolt (3), the washer and the nut.

    Note: The collet on one side must not extend farther than the other collet when the bolt and nut are tight.

  1. Tighten bolt (3) and the nut to torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft). After the bolt and nut are tight, hit the collet on each side with a heavy hammer until the torque on the bolt and the nut is less than 950 N·m (700 lb ft).

  1. Tighten bolt (3) and the nut again to torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft). Hit each collet again until the torque for the bolt and the nut is less than 1600 N·m (1180 lb ft).

  1. Tighten bolt (3) and the nut to a final torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1330 ± 145 lb ft).

    Note: At the end of 50 service hours, repeat Step 61 through Step 63.

  1. Connect seven hose assemblies (1) .

  1. Lubricate the tilt cylinder and tilt lever bearings. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tilt Cylinder and Tilt Lever Bearings - Lubricate".

End By: Remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Remove and Install".
