Start By:

  1. Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Remove and Install".
  2. Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".

  1. Lower the bucket to a hard, level surface.

  1. Disconnect seven hose assemblies (1) .

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to tilt link (2). The weight of tilt link (2) is approximately 125 kg (275 lb).

  1. Remove nut (3), the washer and the bolt.

  1. Remove three plugs (4) .

  1. Install Tooling (A). Tighten Tooling (A) evenly to remove collet (5) .

  1. Repeat Step 5 and Step 6 for the collet on the other side.

  1. Remove pin (6) .

  1. Lower tilt link (2) to the ground.

  1. Remove four bolts (7) and guard (8) .

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to tilt cylinder (9). The weight of tilt cylinder (9) is approximately 360 kg (794 lb).

  1. Start the engine. Extend the tilt cylinder rod until the tilt lever is in the position shown in Illustration 8. Stop the engine.

  1. Remove bolt (10), and the washer from collet (11) .

  1. Remove three plugs (12) from collet (11) .

  1. Install Tooling (A) to collet (11). Tighten Tooling (A) to remove collet (11) .

  1. Repeat Step 14 and Step 15 for the collet on the other side.

  1. Remove pin (13) .

  1. Start the engine. Retract the tilt cylinder rod until the tilt lever is in the position shown in Illustration 11. Stop the engine.

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to tilt lever (14). The weight of tilt lever (14) and the tilt link is approximately 670 kg (1477 lb).

  1. Remove bolt (15), the washer and the nut from collet (16) .

  1. Remove three plugs (17) from collet (16) .

  1. Install Tooling (B) to collet (16). Tighten Tooling (B) to remove collet (16) .

  1. Repeat Step 21 and Step 22 for the collet on the other side.

  1. Install Tooling (C) using bolt (15), the washer and the nut removed in Step 20.

  1. Separate pin (19) from lift arms (18) and tilt lever (14) .

  1. Install Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to the lift arms and to pin (19). The weight of pin (19) is approximately 60 kg (132 lb). to the lift arms and to pin (19) .

  1. Remove pin (19) and the shims.

  1. Remove tilt lever (14) and the tilt link from the machine.

  1. Position tilt lever (14) and tilt link (2) on a smooth level surface.

  1. Remove bolt (21), nut and the washer.

  1. Remove three plugs (20) .

  1. Install Tooling (A). Tighten Tooling (A) evenly to remove collet (22) .

  1. Repeat Step 31 and Step 32 for the collet on the other side.

  1. Remove pin (23) .

  1. Remove lip seals (24) from each side of tilt lever (14) .

  1. Use Tooling (E) to remove the bearing sleeve from tilt lever (14) .

  1. Remove lip seals (25) from both sides of tilt link (2) .

  1. Repeat Step 37 for the other end of tilt link (2) .

  1. Install Tooling (F). Use Tooling (F) to remove the two bearing sleeves from tilt link (2) .
