Start By:
- Separate the transmission planetary and the transfer gears. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Planetary and Transfer Gears - Separate".

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Remove yoke (2). Put identification on bolts (1) for assembly purposes. Remove bolts (1), the washer and the spacers from the bearing cage.

Illustration 2 g01408960 - Install Tooling (A) to bearing cage (3). Tighten Tooling (A) evenly in order to separate bearing cage (3) from the transfer gear case.
- Remove bearing cage (3) and the shims from the transfer gear case.

- Use Tooling (B) (not shown) to remove lip seal (6) from bearing cage (3).

Illustration 6 g00575503 - Bend clip (12) away from the head of bolt (11). Remove bolt (11) that holds tube assembly (10) to the transfer gear case.
- Disconnect tube assembly (10). Remove tube assembly (10) and clip (12) from the transfer gear case.

Illustration 7 g01408978 - Remove the bolts and the washers that hold bearing cage (13) to the transfer gear case. Install Tooling (A) to bearing cage (13). Tighten Tooling (A) evenly in order to separate bearing cage (13) from the transfer gear case.
- Remove bearing cage (13) from the transfer gear case.
