System configuration parameters are parameters that affect emissions and power of the engine applications. Default values for the parameters are programmed at the factory. Some parameters may be changed by the customer in order to suit the needs of the specific application. Certain configuration parameters are also stamped on the engine information plate.

Note: If the parameters that are protected with the factory passwords are changed, the AVSpare warranty may be voided.

Parameter Descriptions

"Equipment ID"

The "Equipment ID" parameter allows the customer to enter a description into the Electronic Control Module (ECM) in order to identify the machine. A maximum of 17 characters can be entered in the field.

"Engine Serial Number"

Program the "Engine Serial Number" to match the engine serial number that is stamped on the engine information plate. The engine serial number is not preprogrammed on a replacement ECM.

"Rating Number"

The "Rating Number" is a reference number that corresponds to the rating map that resides in the personality module. Flash files may contain more than one rating.

"FLS" (Full Load Setting)

"FLS" is a number that represents the adjustment to the fuel system that was made at the factory in order to fine tune the fuel system. The correct value for this parameter is stamped on the engine information plate. Only change this value if the engine is rerated or if a new ECM is installed. Factory passwords are required.

"FTS" (Full Torque Setting)

"FTS" is similar to "FLS". Only change this value if the engine is rerated or if a new ECM is installed. Factory passwords are required.

"Engine Fan Control"

The "Engine Fan Control" parameter allows the operation of this feature to be enabled or disabled.

"Top Engine Fan Speed"

The fan speed is limited between the maximum and minimum limits.

"Max Deceleration Pedal Pos Eng Spd"

The programmed value is the lowest engine speed that can be obtained with the decelerator pedal.

"Engine Security System Status"

This parameter allows the "Engine Security System" to be disabled or removed. If the "Engine Security System" is removed from the machine and this parameter is not programmed to "Disabled", the engine will not start. Factory passwords are required.

"Engine Oil Weight"

The "Engine Oil Weight" parameter defaults to "Automatic Detection". Do not program this parameter.

Note: Compare the FLS and the FTS from the ECM with the values that are listed on the engine information plate. Only change the FLS and the FTS because of a mechanical change in the engine. The use of the wrong parameters could cause damage to the engine. The use of the wrong parameters may also void the AVSpare warranty.
