Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure. Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue and cause serious injury and possible death. If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated immediately by a doctor familiar with this type of injury. Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak. |

Note: Use the information in the reference to prepare the machine for this test. Also, use the information in the reference to relieve any system pressure that may be present in the hydraulic system.
Reference: For the correct procedure to prepare the machine for this test, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" for the machine that is being serviced.
Reference: For the correct procedure to relieve any hydraulic oil pressure that may be present in the hydraulic system, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release" for the machine that is being serviced.
Adjust the pump output flow if the flow test results differ greatly from the specifications.
Move the machine to level ground.
Lower the work tool to the ground.

Main Hydraulic Pumps (1) Adjustment screw for travel pump. (2) Adjustment screw for implement pump. |
Adjust the maximum output flow of the travel pump.
- Loosen the locknut.
- In order to adjust maximum output flow, turn the screw. Turning screw (1) clockwise will decrease the maximum output flow of the travel pump. Turning screw (1) counterclockwise will increase the maximum output flow of the travel pump.
- Tighten the locknut.
- Adjust the maximum output flow of the implement pump. Use screw (2) instead of screw (1). Repeat Steps 1 through 3.
Reference: After you adjust the flow of the pump, run the pump flow test. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Pump Flow - Test".
