Steering Console (6) Propel Speed Range Control. |
Shift valve (1) is a solenoid operated valve with two positions. The shift valve controls the operation of the speed shift mechanism in the drum propel motor and the axle propel motor. When the propel speed range control (6) is in the LOW SPEED position, the speed shift solenoid is not energized. The shift valve in this position connects lines (2) and (3) to line (5). This allows oil from the shift valves in the propel motors to go to the hydraulic oil tank. The propel motors are now at the maximum displacement position (LOW SPEED). When the propel speed range control (6) is in the HIGH SPEED position, the speed shift solenoid is energized. The shift valve in this position connects lines (2) and (3) to line (4). This allows charge oil from the steering pump to go to the control pistons in the drum propel motor and the axle propel motor. The propel motors are now at the minimum displacement position (HIGH SPEED).
