Hydraulic Tank

Illustration 2g00927698

Hydraulic tank (1) supplies oil to the steering, fan, and leveling blade system by providing oil for the gear pump (charge and steering). The hydraulic tank is located on the right side of the compactor below the operator platform.

Gear Pump (Charge and Steering)

Illustration 3g00927823

Gear pump (2) is located on the machine, as shown.

The gear pump provides charge oil for the following components:

  • Gear motor (fan)

  • Steering system (valve, metering pump, and hydraulic cylinders)

  • Leveling blade system (valve and cylinder)

Metering Pump (Steering)

Illustration 4g00927824

Metering pump (3) is located on the machine, as shown. This component delivers oil to the steering cylinders. The metering pump consists of a control section and a gerotor pump. The metering pump (gerotor) controls the rate of oil flow through the control section and to the steering cylinders. The control section controls the direction of the oil. The oil will then go to the hydraulic cylinders.

Hydraulic Cylinders (Steering)

Illustration 5g00927828

Hydraulic cylinders (4) for the steering system are located on the machine, as shown. The steering system contains two hydraulic cylinders.

Gear Motor (Fan for Hydraulic Oil Cooler)

Illustration 6g00927837

Gear motor (5) is located on the machine, as shown. This gear motor turns the fan for the hydraulic oil cooler. The oil flow for this gear motor is supplied by the gear pump (steering and charge).

Hydraulic Oil Cooler

Illustration 7g00927838

Hydraulic oil cooler (6) is located on the machine, as shown. The hydraulic oil cooler maintains the hydraulic oil at the correct operating temperature.

Control Valve (Blade)

Illustration 8g00927841

Control valve (7) is located on the machine, as shown. Oil is supplied to the control valve by the gear pump (charge and steering).

This control valve controls the following positions for the leveling blade:

  • HOLD

  • RAISE

  • LOWER

  • FLOAT

Hydraulic Cylinder (Leveling Blade)

Illustration 9g00927844

Hydraulic cylinder (8) is located on the machine, as shown. This one hydraulic cylinder will lower or raise the leveling blade.
