(3) Charge filter

Charge filter (3) is under the operator platform, on the left side of the machine.

Charge oil from the fan hydraulic system flows through charge filter (3). This oil is directed from the filter to the main hydraulic pump and the machine valve.

The housing of charge filter (3) contains charge bypass switch (1) a bypass valve. If the pressure differential across the filter is greater than 350 kPa (51 psi), the charge bypass switch closes. When the switch closes, the machine ECM logs a level 1 fault and flashes an amber light on the operator display. The fault alerts the operator of a clogged filter. If the pressure differential across the filter is greater than 510 kPa (74 psi), the bypass valve opens. When the bypass valve opens, charge oil flows directly to the pumps and shift valve.

S·O·S tap (1) provides a means of obtaining oil samples upstream of the charge filter.

(4) Cooling package

Cooling package (4) is at the front of the machine. The hydraulic oil cooler is contained within the cooling package.

The return manifold combines the case drain oil from the main hydraulic pump, the vibratory motors, and the propel motors. Oil from the return manifold is directed into the inlet port of the hydraulic oil cooler. The outlet port of the hydraulic oil cooler is connected to the hydraulic tank.

(5) Return manifold

Return manifold (5) is under the pump stack, on the left side of the machine. The ports of the manifold are marked for identification.

Return manifold (5) receives return oil from several hydraulic components. The ports of the manifold are marked for identification.

Return Manifold

The ports of return manifold (5) are marked for identification.

The return manifold receives return oil to the following return manifold port:

  • (A) From port "L" of the front vibratory motor

  • (B) From port "Dr" of the rear propel motor and from port "L" of the rear vibratory motor case drains

  • (G) From port "Dr" of the front vibratory motor

  • (J) From port "L3" of the propel/vibe pump

The return manifold directs return oil to the following hydraulic components:

  • (D) To the oil cooler

  • (H) To the hydraulic tank

Note: Hydraulic oil temp sensor (F) is in port "F". Port "C" and port "E" are plugged.
