General Information

The drums on the machine are hydrostatically driven. The drive system consists of the following components:

  • One variable-displacement piston-type pump

  • One two-speed radial-piston motor on each drum

  • One spring applied, hydraulically released parking brake on each drum

The charge section of the steering/charge pump supplies charge oil to the propel system.

The following groups of graphic symbols are used on the logic diagrams in this publication.

The operator interacts directly with machine start functions and switch operation. Also, time as a function may affect machine operator inputs. Operator input (1) group contains the following graphic symbols:

  • Engine start switch - The engine start switch is manipulated.

  • Start switch key cycle - The previous machine setting is retained through a key cycle.

  • Press and release - The button / switch is operated with a press and release. An icon with both arrows means to press momentarily, and then, release.

  • Press and hold - The button / switch is operated with a press and hold for the time indicated. If the icon contains one arrow, the downward arrow means press and hold, and the upward arrow means release.

  • Time clock - The time clock icon indicates the passage of time. This icon represents time required before performing an action or the time that passes before an action takes effect.

Graphic icons and images used in the logic graphics may contain additional conditions applied to those icons. Condition (2) group contains the following graphic symbols:

  • Not present - This icon indicates that a condition is not present, something is not occurring, on something should not occur. This icon can be combined with other icons to represent the condition of a function.

  • Or - The "V" icon indicates the logic use of "OR". When the "V"icon is used, any one of the displayed conditions can be met to satisfy the requirements.

  • Joystick movement - When a joystick is operated, the relevant position and movement is illustrated. For example, the joystick is in neutral or the joystick is being moved into forward or reverse.

  • Rotation - Clockwise icon or counterclockwise icon.

LED indicators in switches may display multiple status of a switch or related system. LED indicator (3) group contains the following graphic symbols:

  • Steady "ON" LED - The indicator LED will be illuminated in this condition.

  • Flashing "ON" LED - The indicator LED will be flashing "ON" and "OFF" in this condition.

  • Steady "OFF" LED - The indicator LED will not be illuminated in this condition.

Operator seat (4) group contains the following graphic symbols:

  • Seat facing forward - The operator seat is facing forward, to the machine front.

  • 360 Seat turned - The operator seat has been turned to face the machine rear. In this condition, the machine rear will be presented as the front of the machine for operator inputs.

  • Operator in seat - The operator is seated during machine functions.

  • No operator in seat - The operator is not seated during machine functions.

  • Operator not in seat - The warning icon"Operator Not Present" (ONP) is displayed when the operator is not seated during machine functions.

Machine movement (5) group contains the following graphic symbols:

  • Machine stationary - The machine is not moving.

  • Machine moving - The machine is moving, as a function in the logic sequence.

  • Machine moving - The machine is moving in the direction of the machine front.

  • Machine moving - The machine is moving in the direction of the machine rear.

Machine movement status (6) group contains the following graphic symbols:

  • Parking brake status - The parking brake status is set to "engaged".

  • Parking brake status - The parking brake status is set to "released".

  • Propel mode status - The propel mode status is set to "low".

  • Propel mode status - The propel mode status is set to "high".

  • Propel mode status - The propel mode status is set to "travel".

Machine operation (6) group contains the following graphic symbols:

  • System ready status - All the machine perimeters needed for the logic operation have been met.

  • Speed sensor - The speed sensor status for each of the two-wire speed sensors in the drum motor. The speed sensor indicates direction and rpm of the motor.

  • Speed status - The measurement of speed as a value. This icon as a value may illustrate selected speed, actual speed, or change of speed.

  • Closed-loop speed control - The machine is operating with closed-loop speed control. A red circle with a line through the center on top of this icon means that the machine is operating with open-loop speed control.

  • Signal "Hertz" status - The frequency of the speed sensor and the relaying of this frequency as a signal to the ECM.

  • UCMD status - Uncommanded Movement Detection (UCMD) stops the machine if the motion is opposite the commanded direction. UCMD also stops a machine with speed sensor faults for a specified amount of time.

  • Alarm status - An alarm occurs to alert the operator of a machine condition. The alarm will continue until the condition is resolved.

Faults and alarm (8) group contains the following graphic symbols:

  • Fault - A fault is detected in a monitored circuit. A number next to or within the icon represents the fault level. A red circle with a line through the center on top of this icon means that faults are not present.
