Engine start (remote control) circuit

The components of the engine start (remote control) circuit are the remote control switch, the remote control logic unit, the Power Train Electronic Control Module (Power Train ECM), the Engine Electronic Control Module (Engine ECM), and the start relay magnetic switch.

With the key start in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker #9 to the Power Train ECM, via circuit breaker #11 to the Engine ECM and via circuit breaker #5 to the remote control switch.

With remote control switch (1) in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied to the remote control logic unit. A radio signal is sent from the transmitter to the receiver. The remote control receiver sends a signal to the remote control logic unit.

When the key start switch on the transmitter is in the START position, a radio signal is sent by the transmitter to the receiver. The receiver sends a signal to remote control logic unit (2). Start relay #1 (3) is activated and 24 volt battery power is supplied to Power Train ECM (4) and to Engine ECM (5) .

The Power Train ECM supplies 24 volt power to the start relay magnetic switch. When the start relay magnetic switch is energized, 24 volt power is supplied to the starting motor solenoid and to the starting motor.
