The components of the autoshift control (STIC steering) circuit are the autoshift control switch (STIC steering), the Power Train Electronic Control Module (Power Train ECM), and the transmission control (STIC steering).

With the key start switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker #9 to the Power Train ECM.

Power Train ECM (4) receives a ground signal from transmission control (7) indicating the gear and the direction selected.

When autoshift control switch (1) is moved to MANUAL position (2) a ground signal is supplied to the Power Train ECM. The Power Train ECM monitors the signal from upshift switch (5) and downshift switch (6) to determine the gear that is selected by the operator.

When the autoshift control switch is in the AUTOMATIC position (3) a ground signal is supplied to the Power Train ECM. When the signal is received by the Power Train ECM, the Power Train ECM will control the upshift and downshift of gears automatically.

The position of the autoshift control switch indicates the highest gear which will be selected by the Power Train ECM in automatic mode. The Power Train ECM can be programmed to limit this selection.
