(1) Torque for the seven bolts in the gerotor motor group (7) ... 68 ± 7 N·m (50 ± 5 lb ft)

(2) Assemble the ring with the side of the wedge downward into the face of the commutator, as shown.

(3) Lubricate bores with a thin covering of lubricant that is being sealed.

(4) Thickness of 7D-8983 Shim is 0.13 mm (.005 inch).

(5) Thickness of 7D-8984 Shim is 0.18 mm (.007 inch).

As required, use shims (4) and (5) to obtain preload on the bearings (6). Bearing preload is 0.00 to 0.13 mm (.000 to .005 inch).

(8) Thickness of 6G-5543 Shim is 0.13 mm (.005 inch).

(9) Thickness of 6G-5544 Shim is 0.25 mm (.010 inch).

As required, use shims (8) and (9) on the initial assembly to obtain the deflection on 6G-6122 Disc Spring (13). The deflection of the spring should be 2.00 to 2.15 mm (.079 to .085 inch).

(10) Torque for three bolts ... 130 ± 7 N·m (95 ± 5 lb ft)

(13) 6G-6122 Disc Spring :

Assembled height ... 10.63 mm (.419 inch)
Load at assembled height ... 98490 ± 19700 N (22130 ± 4430 lb)
Free height after load ... 12.94 mm (.509 inch)
Outside diameter ... 150.11 ± 0.25 mm (5.910 ± .010 inch)

(15) All surfaces that contact the rubber toric rings and the actual rings must be cleaned and dry at assembly. Also apply a thin film of oil to the contacting surfaces of the seals.

(16) Torque for nut ... 325 ± 27 N·m (240 ± 20 lb ft)

(17) Torque for four nuts ... 400 ± 27 N·m (300 ± 20 lb ft)

Procedure To Preload Disc Pack

(14) 6Y-7953 Friction Disc and 2G-0478 Disc

  1. Remove three bolts (10) and plate (11) .

  1. Measure the dimension from the top of spacer (12) to the top of shims (8) and (9). The top of spacer (12) must be above the top of shims. The distance between the spacer and the shims must be 2.3 ± 0.2 mm (.09 ± .01 inch).

  1. For the correct dimension, remove the correct number of shims (8) and (9) or install the correct number of shims.

  1. Install plate (11) and tighten three bolts (10) to a torque of 130 ± 7 N·m (95 ± 5 lb ft).
