NOTE:

This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS46903" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your AVSpare product analyst.

Rework Procedure


 
1: Place machine in service height and install the 4 service height leg locks. Lower machine down onto the 4 leg locks in order to relieve the pressure in the system.

2: Remove two front strut covers and open both engine hoods.

3: Remove the 546-5997 Tube. The tube will not be reused. Cap 417-4993 Hose using a 6V-9509 Plug and 6V-8398 O-ring. Tie back the end of 417-4993 Hose using a 177-2215 Strap (zip tie).

4: Remove the coil. The coil will not be reused. Remove the 148-8364 Elbow. The elbow will not be reused. Install a 360-3693 Plug and 3K-0360 O-ring to plug the hole where the elbow was removed. Cut off the electrical connector to the coil. The coil will not be reused. Use 1257875 Tube to seal individual wires, then again to seal both wires together. Use a 7K1181 Strap to tie sealed wires back to main harness.

5: Remove the 546-5996 Tube. The tube will not be reused. Install a 6V-9509 Plug and 6V-8398 O-ring at the lower connection where tube was removed.

6: Remove the coil. The coil will not be reused. Remove the 148-8340 Adaptor. The adapter will not be reused. Install a 360-3693 Plug and 3K-0360 O-ring to plug the hole where the adaptor was removed. Cut off the electrical connector to coil. The coil will not be reused. Use 1257875 Tube to seal individual wires, then again to seal both wires together. Use a 7K1181 Strap to tie sealed wires back to main harness.

Disconnect the 417-6357 Hose at both ends. The hose will not be reused. Remove the 148-8340 Adaptor. The adapter will not be reused. Install a 360-3693 Plug and 3K-0360 O-ring to plug hole where the adaptor was removed. Cut off the electrical connector to coil. The coil will not be reused. Use 1257875 Tube to seal individual wires, then again to seal both wires together. Use a 7K1181 Strap to tie sealed wires back to main harness. Use a 6V-9830 Cap to cap opposite end where the 417-6357 Hose was removed.

Use 1257875 Tube to seal individual wires, then again to seal both wires together. Use a 7K1181 Strap to tie sealed wires back to main harness. Use a 6V-9830 Cap to cap opposite end where the 417-6357 Hose was removed.
 
8: Flash 5983218 Software into the machine main ECM. Use Cat ET to make sure ride control is set to "disabled" or "off".
