Introduction

This Special Instruction provides the procedure that is necessary for the relocation of the front engine oil filters on the 797 Off-Highway Trucks.

Do not perform any procedure that is outlined in this Special Instruction until the entire Special Instruction has been read and understood.

Use the following bolt tightening sequence in order to tighten the clamp bolts.

  1. Place the clamp assembly (37) so that the clamp assembly is snug against the tube.

  1. Tighten the clamp assembly to the adapter.

    Torque for clamp bolt (38) ... 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft)

  1. Tighten the clamp assembly to the tube.

    Torque for clamp bolt (39) ... 47 ± 9 N·m (35 ± 7 lb ft)
