This Special Instruction provides the information that is needed for installing the 311-8705 Machine Enclosure Seal Kit (DEBRIS BARRIER) on the machines that are identified above. The kit contains various seals, covers, and brushes that are designed to cover the openings that exist between the frame and the body of the machines. These components prevent wood chips and other materials from entering the engine compartment and the lower frame.

AVSpare recommends the use of the 312-1024 Rear Door Kit and the 272-3062 Debris Guard Kit in conjunction with the 311-8705 Machine Enclosure Seal Kit (DEBRIS BARRIER) .

The cover assemblies that are provided in this kit are fabricated. The cover assemblies are made from a combination of polyester and vinyl. The cover assemblies will utilize hook and loop fasteners. "Two-sided tape" attaches the hook and loop fasteners to the machine. After the tape's adhesive has cured, you can remove the cover assemblies and you can reinstall the cover assemblies, as needed.

Note: Some of the components in this kit utilize adhesive strips and adhesive backing as the means for attaching the component. It is critical that the mounting surface for these components is clean and free of grease in order to ensure proper adhesion. Use a cleaning solvent or a standard degreaser in order to remove grease and oil from the surface. Then, wipe the mounting surface with alcohol and allow the surface to dry completely before applying the adhesive.

Note: The cure time for the adhesive that is used on components in this kit is 24 hours. Once the adhesive is correctly placed on the mounting surface, the adhesive must not be disturbed for 24 hours.

Do not perform any procedure that is outlined in this publication until you read the information and you understand the information that is contained in this document.
