Operating Adjustments
Blade adjustments on cable and hydraulic bulldozers are the same and all reference to one will apply to the other.
All adjustments should be made with the blade raised.
Blade Tilting: To tilt the blade, shorten the brace (2) on one side and lengthen the brace on the other side. The side of the short brace will be the low side. To change the length of the braces, rotate at (1). Refer to the Specifications for maximum tilting:
BRACE ADJUSTMENT
1-HANDLE OR HOLE. 2-BRACE. A-SEE PAGE 15.
Blade Tipping: To adjust the digging angle by tipping the top of the blade backward and forward, shorten or lengthen the braces (2).
Blade tilting or tipping on a bulldozer equipped with a tilt cylinder is accomplished by adjusting one brace manually and using the hydraulic tilt cylinder to achieve the desired tilt or tip.
Refer to the Specifications for maximum tipping.
Measurement (B) between the shoulder on the adjusting screw and the end of the brace tube is used to determine the normal level blade operation and maximum tipping.
BRACE ADJUSTMENT
B-SEE PAGE 15.
Blade Angling: To angle the blade: remove pins, position blade to desired angle and install pins.
