Note: Machines equipped with an optional fast-fill fuel system do not contain a breather filter element in the fuel cap. Perform Steps 3 and 5 only to standard machines without the fast-fill fuel system.

The fuel tank cap is located on the right side of the rear frame.

- Lift lever (5) and turn the lever counterclockwise until the lever stops. Lift the cap straight up to remove the cap.
- Inspect seal (4) for damage. Replace the seal, if necessary.
- Remove screws (1), filter assembly (2), valve (3) and gaskets.
- Wash the cap in a clean, nonflammable solvent.
- Install a new filter kit in the cap. Install the components in reverse order.

- Wash the strainer in a clean, nonflammable solvent.
- Install the strainer in the filler opening.
- Install the fuel tank cap.
