Slope Control Dial

Sets desired slope. Graduated in percent of slope.

Slope Meter

Needle movement indicates that the control is making corrections.

Grade Control Dial

(1) GRADE CONTROL DIAL - Sets desired grade. Two graduations represents 0.01 of a foot grade change.

(2) GRADE CONTROL LOCK - Maintains grade control dial at a set position.

Grade Meter

Needle movement indicates that the control is making corrections.

Slope and Grade Selector

(1) LEFT POSITION - Slope left and grade right.

(2) CENTER POSITION - All blade controls manual.

(3) RIGHT POSITION - Slope right and grade left.

Slope Control Switch

(1) ON - Slope control activated.

(2) OFF - Slope control deactivated.

Cylinder Extend Switches

(1) ON - When switch is in the ON position and slope and grade control switches are ON the lift cylinders are controled by the Automatic Blade Control.

(2) EXTEND - Cylinders are extended for manual control of blade in extreme position on the side selected.

NOTE: The extend switches will operate only when the selector switch is in the manual position.

Grade Control Switch

(1) ON - Holds blade in any desired vertical position.

(2) OFF - Allows blade to be controlled manually.

(3) HOLD - Controls retraction of lift cylinders when feathering at the end of a pass. (Switch must be held in the HOLD position.)

NOTE: Let grade control switch return to OFF position by releasing switch to OFF for short intervals so that lift cylinders will retract slowly to spread material evenly.

Power Switch

(1) ON - Closes main power circuit to controls. Switch must be ON before automatic controls will operate.

(2) OFF - Opens main power circuit to controls.

NOTE: In event of an electrical overload, this switch is an automatic circuit breaker.

If motor grader disconnect switch is accidentally turned OFF, Automatic Blade Control console power switch will kick out.

Turn battery disconnect and console switches ON.

Wire Follower - Early

Follows grade wire and signals grade control.

(1) COUNTERWEIGHT

(2) HOUSING

(3) WAND

(4) LEVER

Mounting bracket is designed so follower will come off if hit or bumped. (Prevents damage to follower.)

Wheel Follower - Early

Rides on surface of established grade and signals grade control.

Always have safety cable connected when operating. This keeps power cable from being pulled apart if follower is knocked off blade.

Wire Follower - Later

Follows grade wire and signals grade control.

Wheel Follower - Later

Rides on surface of established grade and signals grade control.

Skid Shoe Follower

Used in soil conditions that are not suitable for the wheel follower.

Clamp must be down to prevent the wheel or skid shoe follower from rotating on tube assembly.

Install bracket assembly toward ground when operating below established grade.

Control Console Input Cable

To protect the input cable connector when it is disconnected from the control console, connect it to the plug on the mounting bracket.

Automatic Blade Control Hydraulic System Pressure Gauge

------ WARNING! ------

Engine must be stopped and hydraulic system pressure gauge must register zero before disconnecting control console input cable and or working on the Automatic Blade Control hydraulic system.

------WARNING!--------

Hydraulic pressure gauge must be in normal operating range for proper ABC function.
